Guest Worker Support

If it is true that Mexico's largest export, measured by incoming cash, is illegal immigrants then how could a struggling Mexican economy survive a major reduction in illegal immigration?

I understand that on the surface this is a Mexican problem, but is a collapsing 2nd world economy really a problem we want on our southern border?  The socialist, Chavez supporting candidate nearly won with the current economy.  What type of candidate would win in a collapsed economy?

This alone is reason enough for me to support a guest worker program.  It appears to me a better reason than "jobs Americans won't do" or "$5 Lettuce".

Don't misunderstand my stance on illegal immigration.  Illegal is illegal.  We must know who is coming into and saying in our country.  Amnesty for law breakers only encourages more law breaking.

Let's look at a guest worker program as foreign aid with a return!  Clearly it is in the United State's interest to support a stable economy across our southern border.   We spend millions on foreign aid for lesser reasons.  At least with this type of foreign aid we get our lettuce picked!
